It's been a ridiculously long winter, but it looks like spring is finally here!  Now that the snow is finally gone, we can get a good look at what Mother Nature left in our yards over the past few months.   For many of us, the main problem is tree branches and limbs, as you can see in my front yard above.

Following the ice storm that knocked out power for thousands of Michiganders, the weight of the ice along with the wind brought down the brush. But in many cases, line men contracted through Consumers Energy brought down many of those branches intentionally to keep them away from the power lines.

On top of the trees, many of us found pieces of mailboxes that were destroyed by snow plows.  Mine was hit three times this year alone. But it was so nice this past Sunday that I was able to get everything back into order in my front yard, including finally taking down the rest of our Christmas decorations.

In addition to the tree branches and mailbox pieces, I found this can of WD-40 that had apparently been outside all winter. Looking at the photo, I can think of one word and one word only... IRONY!
