Enjoy the milder air while you can, because Mother Nature has plans to flip the script on us heading into Friday morning.

Mid-Michigan Braces for Sharp Temperature Drop

After that temperatures are expected to drop and fast, going from the 40s into the teens in just a few hours. That rapid cooldown means any rain or leftover moisture on roads could freeze quickly, setting the stage for some slick spots by the Friday morning commute.

Why Friday Morning Commute in Flint Could Be Slick

Winds will also pick up, making it feel even colder as Arctic air settles back into the region. By Friday, highs will struggle to get out of the 20s.

Bottom line for Flint and Genesee County drivers: Friday morning may call for a little extra patience. Slowing down, leaving a bit more space, and staying alert should be enough to get you where you’re going safely. Mother Nature just wants to remind us she’s still very much in charge.
