It really is only just beginning of the breakout, but already it appears that this is going to be a long and challenging flu season..

What can you do to help protect your family and yourself? Here are five easy basic tips that will help.

!. Get a flu shot

If you haven't already it's not too late. It is the single best thing you can do!

2. Be sensible

Being sensible means not trying to keep going when your body is telling you to stop. When you feel that maybe you need to take the day off and stay home and rest, then follow your head.

3. Practice good health

Follow some basic rules to keep yourself healthy and less vulnerable to colds and the flu. Don't smoke, and reduce alcohol consumption to help your immune system.

4. Disinfect

Wash your hands and keep your work area sanitized too!

5. Don’t touch your face

This is the easiest way for the germs to get into your system. People don't realize how often their hands touch their face and each touch is an opportunity for germs to attack.
