After 40+ years of keeping Genesee County bronzed, Tropi Tan Tanning Salons are changing their name and owners.

Tropi Tan locations around the area are notifying customers about the change with a posted sign in the salons. The notice indicates the business has been acquired by Zoom Tan. The notice states;

The notice to customers continues on to note key points for the transition to Zoom Tan.

  • Tropi Tan packages/memberships/gift cards will be valid at 90+ Zoom Tan locations across the country.
  • Once they convert to Zoom Tan, the salons will receive new spray-tan equipment.
  • On 2/15/22 the salons will convert to the Zoom Tan point of sale software and customers will need to have their driver's license and cell phone numbers on file to use their memberships and packages.

Tropi Tan was founded by Vince Lorraine in 1979. At the time Lorraine was just a college student with big dreams.

“I had never heard of indoor tanning and happened to see a salon with people lined up to get in! I thought if they could sell sunshine in California, I could definitely do it in Michigan", Lorraine said in an interview with IST Magazine in 2019.

Lorraine is also the Editor in Chief of My City Magazine, and Fenton Township Supervisor, two things that he is passionate about.

There are currently 10 Tropi Tan locations in the state, with 8 switching over to the new Zoom Tan name. According to an employee at the Grand Blanc locations, the Grand Rapids and Lapper locations will continue on with the Tropi Tan name.

According to their website, Zoom Tan was founded in Naples, Florida in 2008. Currently Zoom Tan has tanning salons throughout Florida and New York, and now Michigan. Read the full notice below.

'The One': Look Inside the Most Expensive Home in America

When producer, turned real estate developer, Nile Niami bought a parcel of land overlooking L.A. back in 2012 for $28 million, his plan was to build the “biggest and most expensive modern home in America,” with an eventual asking price of $500 million. The project has taken over 10 years, and now due to the owner defaulting on upward of $165 million of loans and debts, the massive estate has gone into receivership and is now on the market for $295M. Bosting 21 bedrooms and 42 bathrooms throughout its 105,000 sq. feet space, the mega-mansion is filled with a slew of insanely cool extras and amenities. Did we mention 5 pools, a 5000 sq. ft. bedroom, 10,000 bottle wine room, nightclub, full-service salon and spa, 10,000-square-foot sky deck, 400-foot private outdoor running track with a glass-walled view of the city? The home is truly a masterpiece that has to be seen to be believed.
