Snow Day Leaves Blood Supply Low
While students and teachers might have enjoyed the recent snow day, several blood drives had to be canceled due to the bad weather. If you or a loved one needed blood, would it be there? You can do something to make sure.
Sign up to donate whole blood, which takes about an hour from start to finish. If you have good veins and a couple of hours, you can donate platelets and other blood products through the American Red Cross. It's something you can give, no matter what your economic status. Donating blood really does save lives! In fact, a single blood donation can save as many as three lives. If you've never donated or maybe haven't done it lately, call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org
It's a good feeling to know that you've helped someone!
