White Oak Farms on Linden Road is hosting its annual pumpkin party tomorrow, with proceeds going to benefit a local firefighter's family.
26-year-old Stan Monk is a volunteer firefighter for Mt. Morris Township Fire Station 2. He just got married and his wife just gave birth to their first child...a boy. And now, Stan is fighting cancer, in a late and aggressive stage.
He'll have to endure chemotherapy in isolation, meaning he'll be spending months away from his wife and newborn son. "We are just keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out OK for him," said Chief Rick Johnson. "We're all in this fight with him together."
A GoFundMe account was started. In addition to that, Walt Novak (owner of White Oak Farms) is donating all of the proceeds from his annual pumpkin party to Stan and his family.
The party will start at 1 pm tomorrow at 10149 Linden Road. They'll have hayrides, pumpkins, bounce houses and face painting. Take the family out and donate to a great cause!
