Among what seems like endless product recalls, another warning has been issued over the weekend from the United States Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service. It's not a recall because the products have been pulled from stores. However they are issuing a Public Health Alert for pork products sold in Michigan and across the country.

What Products Are Affected?

Imagine biting into dinner only to find a piece of metal. This has the potential to break teeth, cause cuts to the inside of your mouth, or even worse if swallowed. So the U.S.D.A. is urging consumers to check their freezers and refrigerators for a product manufactured under the brand name Pork Cartinas.

The specific product causing alarm and triggering the recall is Pork Carnitas Seasoned & Seared Pork with Juices Slow Cooked with Citrus.

Products affected have an establishment number of 'Est. 46049' within the USDA's mark of inspection. They also have a use by dates of 6/30/2025 or 7/1/2025.

Where Were The Products Sold?

The pork in question was shipped to Aldi supermarkets across the country, including locations in Michigan. The Pork Carnitas brand is manufactured by Cargill Meat Solutions. If you have questions you can call the company's Consumer Hotline directly at 1-844-419-1574.
