New Year’s Resolution Races Saturday at Flint YMCA
The New Year's Resolution 8k run and 5k walk will take place on Saturday, December 31st at 2:00 pm at the downtown Flint YMCA at 411 East 3rd Street. If your goal is to be fit and active in 2012, why not start a little early? 8k (kilometers) is just under 5 miles, 5k is just over 3 miles, both distances are very doable even if you haven't been training.
The course takes you east of the "Y" and through the East Village and Pierce Park neighborhoods. Cost is $20 with a "hoodie" sweatshirt, or just $10 with no shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed on race day. Friday packet pickup is available at Bauman's Running and Walking Shop on Hill Road. (810) 238-5981. Close out 2011 with good friends at the New Year's Resolution Run/Walk. I'll be there, if the temperature is above freezing I'll wear shorts!
