Genesee Co. Fitness Program ‘Hills & Drills’ Earns State Honors – The Good News
Well-deserved, too! Congratulations to our friends at APTC and Bauman's!
Hills & Drills is a totally free, drop-in fitness program that's held during the summer months at Creasey Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc. It was started by the fine folks at Advanced Physical Therapy Centers and Bauman's Running Running and Walking Shop.
It began three years ago, as a sort of "subsidy" to the Crim Training Program. It was a way to get some extra workouts in during the week in between training runs. Since then, it has become a weekly ritual for hundreds of people in Genesee County to get in shape during the summer.
The program was honored last week by Michigan Recreation and Park Association and the mParks Professional Recognition Committee with an award for Innovative Programming last week in Detroit. And if you've ever attended one of their Wednesday night workouts, you'll know why. It is GRUELING. And amazing. And a lot of people put their free time into it...for free. Congratulations!!!
