April is Autism Awareness Month, so NCG Cinemas has started offering sensory-friendly showings at their Grand Blanc location.

According to a press release from NCG Cinemas, all 17 theaters in six states have become Special Needs certified. They'll provide movies once a month for individuals who have trouble going to regular films. At the sensory-friendly showings, people are allowed to stand up, talk, sing, dance and move about the auditorium.

Our son is high-functioning autistic, and luckily, he doesn't have problems at movies. But the first time we took him, we were concerned about that. These movies are aimed at people who have autism, cerebral palsy and other disorders. I think it's a wonderful idea!
