It’s insane to think about how many dead bodies and human remains have been found across Michigan in the last few weeks, and sadly, we have another case to add.

What We Know About the Dead Body Found in Mt. Morris Township

According to Mt. Morris Township Police Chief Michael Veach, on the evening of April 30, 2026, two people heading out to fish discovered a body floating in a pond near Beecher High School.

The individuals contacted authorities, and Mt. Morris Township police responded to the pond near the intersection of Neff Road and Flamingo Drive.

Police Await Autopsy Results in Genesee County Case

Chief Veach said:

The body was badly decomposed from being in the water for so long, so it was difficult to determine if there was any foul play. We won’t know for sure until we hear back from the medical examiner.

The victim had no identification, and the investigation is ongoing, according to MLive. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mt. Morris Township Police Department at 810-785-1311.

Recent Human Remains Discoveries Across Michigan

This is just the latest in a series of disturbing discoveries not only in Genesee County, but across the state. In March, a property owner found human remains on newly purchased land.

Days later, two bodies were discovered at a Meijer store on Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw. Last month, two additional cases were reported, one along US-127 and another in a vacant lot in Detroit.
