She told police she had been standing near Corunna Road and Ballenger Highway holding a sign saying she was homeless when a man, identified as Duane Reynolds, picked her up and took her to a rural property in Forest Township. ABC 12 reports that at some point she ran.

According to the report, she fled through the woods naked, except for one sock, and showed up at a nearby home asking for help, saying there was a man back there. Neighbors took her in and called police. She told investigators she wasn’t hurt, went to the hospital, then left before being treated. No complaint, no charges.

Police have searched both that home and a nearby property tied to the 2017 incident, less than two miles apart. Investigators are still working to determine if the remains belong to one person. For now, no clear answers, just a case that continues to raise more questions.
