Hooters in Flint Abruptly Closes Its Doors for Good
We knew this day was coming; it was only a matter of time before we had to break the news that Hooters in Flint is no more.
Back in late February, we gave you the heads-up that Michigan’s last three Hooters spots were on shaky ground as the company was considering bankruptcy. Well, about a month later, they officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Then, on Wednesday, June 4, we got word that the Hooters on Miller Road in Flint abruptly closed its doors for good. No warning, no official announcement — just a handwritten sign taped to the door saying, “BUSINESS IS CLOSED, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!! HOOTERS OF FLINT.”
According to Mid-Michigan Now, this closure is part of a bigger plan as Hooters shifts toward a franchise-only model, closing several company-owned locations to focus on its strongest markets. Sadly, Flint’s Hooters didn’t make the cut.
How Many Hooters Locations Are Left in Michigan?
That means there’s only one Hooters left in Michigan now, over on Bay Road in Saginaw. So if you’re craving those wings and that classic vibe, you’re gonna have to make the drive or find yourself a new go-to spot.
Flint’s Hooters opened back in 1996. Say what you want about their wings, but I freaking loved them and will definitely miss the Flint location after all these years. A lot of people have memories tied to that place, whether they’ll admit it or not.
