Genesee Valley Center Purchased by Owners of Fashion Square Mall

The sale came as surprise to Flint Township officials.

Genesee Valley Center Mall has been purchased by the Namdar Realty Group, which owns several malls throughout Michigan including Saginaw's Fashion Square Mall.

Management, housekeeping and security staff members were let go the week before Christmas. It's reported that they'll be using in-house services going forward.

Flint Township Economic Enhancement Director Tracey Tucker said that they were "surprised" by the sale. They are hoping that the new owners will want to continue their relationship, which has included the summer concert series held in the outdoor village.
