
Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Michigan State Police Car in Flint Township
Early Sunday morning, right around 6 a.m., two Michigan State Police troopers were doing what thousands of people do at the end of a long shift. They were heading back to their post, ready to call it a night. Then everything changed at the intersection of Linden and Corunna in Flint Township.
How the Flint Township Crash Involving Michigan State Police Unfolded
Police say a driver heading south on Linden Road blew through a red light, and investigators believe the driver was intoxicated. The troopers did not have time to avoid it according to WJRT.

Their patrol car slammed into a Chevrolet Trax on the passenger side. The force of the crash pushed that vehicle into a red Chevrolet Silverado that was sitting at the intersection waiting for the light.
Troopers Helped Others Despite Being Injured
Despite being hurt themselves, the troopers immediately got out and started helping the other drivers. That detail tells you a lot about the kind of people we are talking about. Thankfully, this did not turn into something even more tragic.

Both troopers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released. The driver believed to be intoxicated was also hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life threatening. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Investigation Underway Into Suspected OWI Driver
Michigan State Police say their Third District Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is now investigating what happened. Police expect operating while intoxicated charges to be filed.
