Food Assistance Benefits Extended Through March

Michigan previously approved its extended food benefits program back in March of 2020, and now they've extended it yet again.

Food is the last thing anyone should have to worry about. The pandemic has definitely put a lot of families in a bad financial position and this extension is exactly what we need.

Eligible clients will see additional food assistance benefits on their Bridge Card March 20 to 30. Additional benefits will be loaded onto Bridge Cards as a separate payment from the assistance that is provided earlier in the month.

If I could give everyone food assistance outta my own pocket I would. Seeing the extension to food benefits warms my heart because I grew up poor. We had it rough growing up and thankfully food assistance was the thing we could rely on. Granted, the quality of food was sub-par but, that was better than nothing. I know I sound like a nut-job but I do believe that no family should ever go hungry, no matter the situation or the cost.
