Do you know what you're going to buy your child for Christmas?  Would you buy a cell phone for them?  If you don't know what to get, would you consider buying them a gift card?  Apparently, both of these are on the list of gifts you shouldn't buy for your child. Researchers suggest that you wouldn't be teaching your child money saving lessons because you would just be giving them the phone.  They went on to say that if you bought a gift card, you aren't putting any thought into their interests and talents.

I don't think gift cards are bad, especially if kids are older, because then they can pick out what they want.  I'm not sure if I would buy a child a cell phone for Christmas.  It would definitely depend on their age and how responsible they are.  Would you buy your child a cell phone or gift card for Christmas?
