Holiday Magic Is Back! Wild Lights Returns to Detroit Zoo
It's that time of the year again when the spirit of the season comes alive in the most enchanting way possible. Get ready to embark on an adventure like no other as the Detroit Zoo transforms into a breathtaking spectacle of lights and festive cheer.
Wild Lights, the Detroit Zoo’s annual holiday light display is back again this year and will feature more than 5 million twinkling LED lights to entertain families across the state again this holiday season. Visitors to the zoo will enjoy beautiful lights illuminating buildings, trees, and 500 festive displays.
Guests will love the Polar Express 4D Experience, Toyland & Wishing Tree, Underwater Trail, and even some entertainment in the Wild Lights Lodge. There will also be plenty of spots to capture some amazing photos perfect for Christmas.
When is Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo?
Wild Lights will kick off the weekend of November 24n for the weekend, and also take place;
- December 1-3
- December 8-10
- December 13-23
- December 26-31
- January 2-7
Hours on most Fridays and Saturdays are 5 to 10:30 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. on select weeknights and Sundays.

For those wanting more VIP experience, the "Polar Patio" package. The package offers a private dining experience which includes admission to Wild Lights and the Environmental Impact II Art exhibit, a delicious buffet, hot cocoa in a souvenir cup, and access to a cash bar. "Polar Patio" packages range from $45-$55.
