Huge Gift: Flint Leave Your Lights Up Longer. It’ll Make You Happy
The Flint area looks beautiful all lit up for the holidays. It seems like the season passes so quickly -- especially after you consider how much time it takes to put up the lights.
Now, science suggests there's a reason we should put them up earlier... or leave them up longer.

Christmas Lights Improve Our Mood
Psychologist Deborah Serani told Glamour magazine about the impact it has on us, physically and mentally.
“It creates a neurological change that can produce happiness. Putting up the Christmas decorations will cause a spike in dopamine, a feel-good hormone, she says.”
Couple that with good nostalgia vibes while admiring your finished product with sentimental ornaments and beautiful lights -- it warms your heart.
So, why are we in such a hurry to take them down immediately after the holidays?
We get it. Some folks deal with depression during the holidays for a variety of reasons, but not everyone.

They lift our mood. Especially when it's cloudy and the snow is dirty for days on end. Or worse, it's just muddy and gray.
No, we're not saying to leave Santa and his reindeer in your yard or on the roof.
But maybe the colorful or clear lights on the house or in your landscaping could stay on a while longer? Plus, it's easier to take them down when it's warmer ... like April.
