That's who gave the area the dubious title in its report. Hard numbers for crime in the neighborhood aren't available in the FBI report the website bases its claims on. Flint City Councilman Scott Kincaid, whose 9th Ward includes the area, says"that part of town is nowhere near the most violent neighborhood, probably not even in the city."

But according to NeighborhoodScout, people have a 1 in 14 chance of being victim of a violent crime in the area, which is based on an analysis of census tracts across the country.

Flint's Police Capt. T.P. Johnson wouldn't be surprised if the data is accurate.

Police get a lot of calls to that area, especially to the Evergreen Regency apartment complex off Lippincott, Johnson said.
