Voices for Children Looking to ‘Deck the Halls’ to Help Kids
As the coronavirus pandemic goes on not only do businesses suffer, but local charities as well. Most rely heavily on their annual fundraising events each year to keep going.
Voices for Children, a local Genesee County agency providing evidence-based trauma-informed care for children ages 0-18, is just such a charity. They have benefited for the past 3 years from the Denim & Diamonds event held the first week of November. This year, due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, the event was unable to be held leaving Voices for Children and their committee searching for ways to still raise those much needed funds.
Denim & Diamonds founders, and owners of Pure Bliss Salon & Spa, Randy and Melissa Withey know the importance of their event and the work that Voices for Children does. Together with the VFC committee they came up with a “holiday” solution. Why not decorate your tree with a little love.
This year you can purchase a special Voices for Children ornament with 100% of the proceeds going directly to help VFC to continue on with their vital services. You can also grab some Denim & Diamonds swag for the holidays too like a sweatshirt or T-shirt.
Withey stresses the importance of supporting Voices for Children and their mission in the community saying,
“We know donations are down this year, and it’s our 4th year of Denim & Diamonds the funds help Voices for Children grow and to be able to provide the services they do to local kids. With the pandemic this year we were unable to do our traditional fundraiser so they need us even greater for support from our community. Voices for Children is a vital resource and service for our community."
The ornaments, sweatshirts, and t-shirts are available for purchase at Pure Bliss Salon & Spa, or can be ordered online for pick-up as well here. You can also make a donation to help Voice for Children by clicking here during their Month of Giving.
