Sweetest Day – A Day to do Something Sweet for Someone

Sweetest Day is tomorrow, October 20th.  Despite popular perception, Sweetest Day is not the autumnal version of Valentine's Day.  Sweetest Day originated in the early 1920's.

It first came about when a candy company employee named Herbert Birch Kingston decided that it would be a wonderful gesture to distribute candy to the sick, shut-ins and orphans in and around Cleveland, Ohio.  Thus, Sweetest Day was born.

You are encouraged to do something sweet for someone on this day.  When all else fails, chocolate usually gets the job done.

So celebrate Sweetest Day by doing something nice for someone else.  They'll think you're a "Sweetie."
