Petition Circulating to Repaint Flint Mural That Was Covered Up

Last weekend, word started to circulate around Flint that a mural, which had been finished by the artist only two days before, was painted over with no explanation.
Pauly M. Everett is a native Flintstone and the artist of the original mural. He told us last weekend that it was a "legal wall" for a mural and that the property owner, Genesee County Land Bank, was supportive of the mural being painted.
"It 100% for sure had nothing to do with the Landbank they are great folks and work with us around town 24/7 legit and professional. Just to clear that up for anybody whom may have been confused."
The mural was part of the Flint Public Art Project's Mural Project. Their Facebook page released a statement earlier this week:
"Thank you to everyone who reached out to us showing concern about Pauly M. Everett
recent mural. The mural project is part of a beatification project to help uplift our community and this mural had no other hidden agend or meaning behind. We can't stop this from happening, but what we can do is continue to work with the neighborhood, local businesses, and the Genesee County Land Bank, who have been very supportive of the mural project, to install another mural in its place."
