Why Are People Tossing Kittens Out of Their Cars in Kalamazoo County?
On more than one occasion, kittens have been tossed out of moving vehicles, and into traffic in Kalamazoo County.
The first incident involved a five-week old kitten that was tossed out a car window on Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo.
The second incident happened days later with again another kitten that was helplessly tossed out a vehicle window on S. Westnedge Avenue in Portage.
Kalamazoo Animal Rescue:
Do you think you're having a bad day? This sweet little five-week-old baby just had the worst one of her life! She was thrown out of a car on busy Sprinkle Road. A Good Samaritan brought her to us, and of course we are taking care of her. Even though we are overwhelmed, and even though the rescue is full of kittens already, we're making room. No one deserves an awful end on a busy road! Please donate today so we can keep going!
What kind of heartless lowlife would do something like this?
I don't have the answer to that but one woman on the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue Facebook page said it best:
There's a special place in Hell for people that abuse animals. Thank you for taking care of this baby.
Another woman said:
I can’t believe I live among people that would do this. Makes me sick.
Someone that would do something like this to an animal would surely do the same to a human. I don't know if the same person did this or if it was truly two separate cases. It seems like an awfully big coincidence that it would happen twice in the same week in the same county by different people.
It's unclear if either of the incidences were caught on camera.
Thankfully, this story has a happy ending as both kittens survived and will be just fine.
