Michigan UAW Members Help Clean Up Flint’s Sitdown Memorial

People arrived from all over the state yesterday to help clean up the vandalized memorial.

As we told you earlier this week, on Saturday night, the Flint UAW Sitdown Strikers' Memorial was vandalized over the weekend. The memorial is located at 1940 W. Atherton Road; lights were broken and statues were painted. This came just days before their annual Labor Day celebrations.

Yesterday, union members from all over the state showed up with cleaning supplies and new lightbulbs. Even though union organizers from UAW Region 1-D said that the vandalism wouldn't dampen their Labor Day celebration, now they'll have a clean, sparkling memorial. Thank you!
