Michigan Man Helps To Save a Flint Skate Park

The park is city property, but it's never received any TLC. So Daniel Wilson decided to change that.

Wilson, a lifelong skater, just returned to Genesee County after living in the UP and was shocked to see that his beloved skate park at the golf course on Hammerberg Road was in bad shape. It's the only skate park that Flint kids can get to by public transportation; if they have their own transportation, they usually go to the one in Clio.

So, Wilson decided to take it upon himself to start a GoFundMe and fix it up himself. He and his friends started work on the skate park last Tuesday. Wilson says that he believes that the park saves lives and keeps kids out of trouble because there's not a lot of youth recreation in the area.
