
Flooding Forces Road Closures, Triggers Warnings in Flint Area
Michigan was hit with heavy rain over the past couple of days, overwhelming drains across the area. Many roads were flooded, and some became completely impassable.
Flooding Closes Key Roads Across Genesee County
Linden Road south of Bristol Road in Flint Township was closed at the viaduct. Flint Township Police had to rescue a couple of vehicles that became stranded.

Flooding on Jennings Road between Grand Blanc Road and Cook Road forced some drivers to turn around and find alternate routes, while others in trucks and large SUVs attempted to drive through.

Yesterday morning around 8 a.m., Michigan State Police closed all southbound lanes of I-69 in Eaton County after flooding made the freeway impassable, according to a report from MLive.
Rivers and Creeks Continue Rising Across Mid-Michigan
A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Flint River until 3:30 Monday afternoon, Kearsley Creek near Davison until 8 p.m. Monday, and Swartz Creek near Flint until further notice.

The Weather Channel reports flooding has increased from minor to moderate severity for the Cass River near Frankenmuth and the Saginaw River near Saginaw and Bay City. Swartz Creek has been upgraded from moderate to major flooding.
Officials Urge Drivers to Avoid Flooded Roads
As of this report, Genesee County 911 is still showing road closures on Old Bridge Road east of Woodbridge in Grand Blanc, Hogan at Lobdell in Argentine Township, Cook Road is closed from Meadowland and Orchardview in Grand Blanc Township, Burpee Road between Gale and Vassar in Atlas Township, and McCandlish between Gaitway and Vassar are still closed due to flooding.
Officials are warning drivers to avoid flooded roads and use alternate routes.
