
Drivers Facing Closures As Genesee County Repairs Flood Damage
With the recent flooding in Genesee County and complaints from residents about drainage, one area will soon see improvements. But the work will also bring road closures and traffic detours.
Why Van Slyke Road Is Closed In Mundy Township
According to MLive, the Genesee County Road Commission is doing utility work on Van Slyke Road in Mundy Township, closing the stretch from Maple Road south to Hill Road.

Crews are working on ditch and drainage improvements while also repairing culverts along that section of roadway.
Flooding Problems Continue Across Genesee County
The work is expected to wrap up today, but residents in Grand Blanc Township are still wondering when improvements will be made to other areas prone to severe flooding.

After heavy downpours last month, Genesee County dealt with widespread flooding. A sinkhole and bridge failure also caused road closures that remain in effect while repairs are planned.
Residents Asking When Long-Term Flood Fixes Will Happen
According to Genesee County 911 Central Dispatch, the bridge on McCandlish Road in Grand Blanc Township between Saginaw Road and Holly Road is closed until further notice because of a structural failure. Meanwhile, in Mt. Morris Township, a massive sinkhole has Webster Road closed north of Stanley Road.

The Van Slyke Road project is expected to conclude this afternoon. However, there is still no timeline for repairs connected to the bridge failure or the sinkhole.
