MI State Police Gives Pallbearer Ride To Funeral After a Crash – The Good News
More of Michigan's finest going above and beyond with the historic weather this week.
David Rood was driving on I-75 towards Saginaw to a funeral on Tuesday - he was serving as a pallbearer after the death of his good friend, David Tierney. He had promised him the day before he died that he would serve as one of his pallbearers.
And he almost didn't make it - his car slid in a ditch near Birch Run.
Michigan State Police Officer Victor Jurkowski stopped to help, and that's when he found out that Rood was going to miss the funeral. So, he offered to give him a ride.
Literally the definition of above and beyond. What a beautiful story!
