Lapeer’s Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Game was Full of Surprises — Including a Proposal [PHOTOS]
The 8th Annual Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey game for Relay for Life of Lapeer County was a great success with many surprises. Even a proposal!
The Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey game that pits police against firefighters in a game of hockey has always been a great time. I have been the emcee for about three events now and it is always great to see everyone in Lapeer come out and celebrate a great game and help raise money for Relay for Life/American Cancer Society thanks to Ray C's Relay for Life Team.
This past Saturday was crazy fun at Polar Palace. Not only is there a new champion, the Firefighters with a 10 to 7 victory over the Police, but there was a proposal from Officer Joe Nesbit to his long time girlfriend. Let me tell you, we all worked very hard to make sure that this proposal went off without a hitch. It was really fun to be involved and I was bursting at the seams to tell everyone. By the way, she did say, "yes!"
There you go, now two 'congratulations' are involved with this year's Guns & Hoses game. Congratulations to the new Nesbits and to the firefighters team for their victory.
Also, let me just sneak in a quick thank you for Lapeer, Polar Palace, Ray C's Harley Davidson, VIEW Newspaper, Home Depot of Lapeer, Police team, and the firefighter team for putting up with my shenanigans:
