Kroger Adds Ready-To-Prepare Meals in Michigan Stores
Kroger will begin to sell ready-to-prepare meals to compete with online retailers like Home Chef and Blue Apron. The meals will cost $14 and come with all the ingredients measured and ready to be prepared in 20 minutes or less. The meals will come to 15 Kroger stores this month, with plans to expand them to 15 more stores next month.
Kroger's Preped+Pared meals will come with no frozen ingredients and are designed for couples who prefer home-cooked meals that don't have time to prepare one from scratch. Each meal comes with enough food to feed two adults.
I have used a service like this for almost a year now, and I don't know what I would do without it. My food is delivered each week and my dinner schedule is set. The downside is that my schedule changes often, and once I have the food ordered I can't change it. Having a local option to go get meals that I know I can cook each week will be nice!
