Jason Dalton says that he's "currently in prison because of Uber."

UPDATE: The lawsuit has been exposed as a hoax. Jason Dalton did not submit the claim himself.

Dalton is accused of gunning down six people in between taking fares as an Uber driver on February 20th. He's seeking $10 million in damages for emotional distress, according to a handwritten complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan.

Among his complaints, he says that he was never paid back wages or overtime, wasn't invited to corporate parties, not given a Christmas bonus, and was forced to work when he was sick. He says that Uber treats its drivers "like crap."

“I’m currently in prison because of Uber. My life is ruined because of Uber. My wife is divorcing me because of Uber.”

He claims that he was being "controlled" by the Uber app on his cell phone. He's being charged with murder and attempted murder.

As much as I'd love to complain about how ludicrous this is, the man is clearly mentally ill, and we all know that he won't win this lawsuit. Again, if only we could get people the help that they need. Sadly, sometimes we don't know that somebody needs help unless they ask for it.
