
Another Major Meat Recall For Products Sold in Michigan
Michigan consumers are once again urged to check their freezers as more than 22,000 pounds of meat has been recalled in Michigan and eight other states.
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the warning for Johnsonville products that may contain hard plastic pieces.
What Led to the Johnsonville Meat Recall?
Johnsonville, LLC, which is headquartered in Momence, Illinois, received two customer complaints reporting that hard plastic pieces were found in their meat products. The company reported to the complaints to the United States Department of Agriculture.

However, there have been no reports of injuries due to consumption of the products.
What Johnsonville Meat Products Are Being Recalled?
The company announced a voluntary recall of 22,672 pounds of its cheddar bratwurst product. The products are sold in 19 oz. packages with the package code B9FOD. Affected packages have a label that indicates an establishment number that reads "Est.1647." The brats were produced and packaged on February 5 of this year. The firm tray packages contain five pieces of the bratwurst product
According to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the products have been distributed to stores in Michigan, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Consumers are urged to check their freezers and any existing packages of the cheddar bratwurst product should be immediately thrown away or returned to the store where they were purchased.
