Jackson Man Wins $1M on Michigan Lottery Scratch-Off

A Jackson County man just won $1 million on an instant Michigan Lottery ticket.

You know the saying, 'You can’t win if you don’t play'. It turns out this 48-year-old winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been purchasing a Millionaire Maker instant ticket once a week since the game was released.

That routine certainly paid off - his most recent Millionaire Maker ticket was a winner. According to Michigan Lottery Connect, the $50 ticket was purchased at Lakeside Convenience Store in Michigan Center, just a few miles east of Jackson.

Here is what the lucky guy had to say about his big win,

I scratched the ‘Your Numbers’ section of the ticket first and saw 44 had ‘$1MIL’ underneath it. Then I scratched the ‘Winning Numbers’ section next. When I revealed 44 as one of my winning numbers, I thought: ‘This can’t be real!’ I tried to stay calm, but I was so excited.

I cannot even imagine. Well, of course I can imagine winning - but I completely understand that feeling of 'this can’t be real'.

It is no surprise that this player chose a one-time lump sum payment of $693,000 and plans to save the money for his retirement.

I don’t know about you, but I would have a hard time keeping a win like this a secret. That said, I am sure hitting it big in the lottery can attract all kinds of people looking for a handout.

Just know, if I win the lottery, there will indeed be signs.
