Sheetz Announces Plans for First Mid-Michigan Location
Sheetz fans won’t have to wait much longer. The chain is expanding past Metro Detroit, with its first Mid-Michigan location on the way.
The Pennsylvania-based fast food and gas station company announced plans to open a store in East Lansing.

Sheetz has long been a staple along the East Coast but only recently entered Michigan. Its first location opened last month in Romulus, with additional stores planned for Taylor, Warren, and Macomb Township.
Sheetz Plans for Future Growth in Michigan
The company says it expects to open 50 to 60 Michigan locations in the coming years. However, some proposed sites have been rejected in cities including Madison Heights, Rochester Hills, and Waterford.
What Makes Sheetz Different?
Sheetz has built a cult following over the years with its colorful interiors and made-to-order menu. Fans proudly call themselves “Sheetz Freakz” and rave about the chain’s fried favorites, sandwiches, burgers, salads and all-day breakfast items.
Nick Ruffner, Public Affairs Director for Sheetz, told WILX-TV the chain is excited to expand its footprint into Mid-Michigan.
“Sheetz is excited to confirm our intention to open a store in East Lansing as we expand into mid-Michigan,” Ruffner said. “After a tremendous response to our openings in Metro Detroit, we can’t wait to bring the Sheetz experience to Spartan Country.”
