Is This Homework Assignment Inappropriate?

An Arizona mother thinks that her 8-year-old daughter's homework assignment is not very age-appropriate.Gina Apilado, whose daughter Emily attends Imagine Rosefield Charter School in Surprise, Arizona, says that her daughter brought home materials that were not "age appropriate" for her third grader.

Topics discussed in the material included dead pets, weight loss and fighting. The school district has said that it was taken from an online assignment site that was intended for sixth to twelfth graders. The mother says that this was just a case of a good teacher who made a content mistake.
