I'm painfully aware that there are hungry people in the world and yet here I am, purposely not eating.

It takes a lot to own up to the fact that something you're doing is stupid...and to then keep doing it. And I'm totally comfortable admitting that intermittent fasting is just another fad diet that I'm trying.

It started when I had my sinus surgery two months ago. I was sleeping a lot and I wasn't hungry, so I started skipping breakfast. When I came back to work, I realized that I wasn't hungry for breakfast, so I just drank coffee.

And then, the fasting craze started...and I realized that I was doing it without even knowing it.

A "fad diet" is described as a quick fix; a temporary lifestyle change that yields temporary results.

Take a minute and start thinking back on diet trends you've tried - Atkins, Keto, grapefruit, etc. Pat lost a TON of weight on Atkins about 13 years ago...and then he gained it all back. Never tried South Beach, but I know a lot of people who did.

Intermittent fasting has its health benefits for people with chronic problems, but I'm pretty sure that, for people like ME, it's just another fad.

The thing I like about it is that you don't necessarily change WHAT you eat, just WHEN you eat. I fast from after dinner, around 8 PM, until lunch the next day. I still drink coffee in the morning (and YES I put creamer in it because I'm a human being and black coffee is NOT okay) and water - btw, if you're gonna try it, know that you WILL PEE. A LOT. Find bathrooms often, everywhere.

Whatever; I'm down two pounds in two days so I'm sticking with it. I haven't been hangry yet, so that's something, right?
