Heartbroken Family Remembers Family Dollar Shooting Victim
The family of 43-year-old Calvin Munerlyn doesn't want to focus on how his life was tragically taken last Friday but rather how he lived his life.
Calvin Munerlyn's youngest son Khalim along with Munerlyn's mother in law recently talked with ABC12 about how much they and everyone else loved him. His son said that he believed God wanted his dad a little earlier than they expected and as long as he was with God, the 11-year-old would be ok.
Just listening to Khalim talk about his father is absolutely heartbreaking but he did such a great job especially since he was trying to do it while on tv. Our hearts going out to the entire family who is obviously in a great deal of pain.
Munerlyn, the father of eight, was shot killed Friday night (5/1) while working security at the Family Dollar in downtown Flint. He was simply enforcing the store's policy requiring face masks.
State police are still searching for the two men accused of killing Calvin Munerlyn. 44-year-old Larry Edward Teague and 23-year-old Ramonyea Bishop are considered armed and dangerous. Teague's wife and Bishop's mother, 45-year-old Sharmel Teague who is accused of starting the incident was arrested and is being held without bond. She is facing life in prison if convicted.
