It doesn’t matter who is president, Republican or Democrat, threatening the Commander in Chief isn’t just a bad idea, it’s illegal. Someone in Grand Blanc did just that.

A Grand Blanc man is facing a federal charge after Secret Service investigators say he made threats against President Donald Trump, members of the president’s family, and U.S. government buildings.

Investigators Traced The Account To Grand Blanc

His name is James Michael Dewaelsche, and he is being charged under federal law with making threats against the president and others who are in the line of presidential succession.

The criminal complaint was filed Monday in federal court in Detroit. And according to the complaint, the Secret Service became aware of several posts on X on September 7.

What Did Secret Service Find In Their Initial Investigation

Investigators say those posts included threats to kill the president and his family, along with threats to bomb government buildings. From there, investigators worked to figure out who was behind the account.

The Secret Service obtained information from X that pointed to a Yahoo email address used to create the account. Investigators then followed records connected to that email address to an AT&T internet account.

That information eventually led investigators to a home on Belsay Road in Grand Blanc, where the internet service was connected to Dewaelsche. Secret Service agents interviewed him at his home the following day according to WJRT.

Man Allegedly Admitted Making The Posts

According to the complaint, Dewaelsche admitted to making the posts. Investigators say he also acknowledged that making those threats was illegal, but said he continued because he "wants to be heard." Not a good reason if you ask me.

The complaint also says Dewaelsche had previous interactions with the Secret Service involving alleged threats toward Trump and former President Joe Biden in 2018 and 2024.

Why Did Dewaelsche Threaten The President?

Clearly he doesn’t care who the president is, he just wants to make threats.
A Secret Service agent wrote that investigators believe there is probable cause that Dewaelsche was behind the X account and made threats against the president in violation of federal law.

Since this is a federal criminal charge, and the allegations in the complaint still have to be proven in court. This is just crazy. No matter who is in the White House, making threats to the president or government buildings is serious businesses.
