Michigan Drivers Finally See Small Drop In Gas Prices

Gas prices in Michigan actually dipped a little this week, down to about $3.86 a gallon. That’s about 8 cents cheaper than last week, which honestly feels like a win right now.

But before we get too comfortable, zoom out for a second, because this is where it gets a little less encouraging.

Global Tensions Continue To Impact Michigan Fuel Costs

Prices are still up more than 50 cents compared to just a month ago. So yeah, we got a small break, but we’re still paying a lot more than we were not that long ago.

Now, depending on where you are in Michigan, MLive says prices are all over the place. Some areas are already over $4 a gallon, while places like Flint and Saginaw are still sitting closer to the low $3.70 range.

Why Gas Prices Are Still Higher Across Michigan

There have been some attempts to slow things down, like holding off on summer gas rule changes, which usually push prices even higher. So that’s part of why you’re seeing a little relief right now.

But even officials are basically saying the same thing most drivers are already thinking, this might not last. Bottom line, enjoy the small break while it’s here.
