According to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, America is currently on high alert following the U.S. attack on Iran. The Federal government claims that we are not at war with Iran, instead that we are just trying to end their nuclear program. But chances are Iran doesn't see it that way.

Official Statements from Michigan State Police and Gov. Whitmer

The Michigan State Police issued a statement following the U.S. air assault on the Iranian nuclear facilities. While they won't divulge details about specific security measures, MSP Public Information Officer Lt. Mike Shaw did say that the Michigan State Police 'do remind members of the community to remain vigilant in their day to day travels, especially at large events.'

Governor Gretchen Whitmer also released a statement on social media stating that, 'My top priority is the safety and security of the people of Michigan.' She continued by saying, 'Last night, I called a briefing with the Adjutant General of the Michigan National Guard and Colonel Grady with the Michigan State Police for an update on the situation in Iran. We are monitoring things closely and taking steps to keep Michiganders safe.'

What Michigan Residents Should Do

As of now, Iran is retaliating against the United States by attacking our military bases in the region. Hopefully their plans don't include retaliation here at home. But as officials have said, if you see something, say something. Contact local authorities if something doesn't seem right.
