Free Flint Inner City Youth Hockey Program Looking for Players – The Good News
Did we mention that it's FREE? Yes, really. No strings attached.
The Flint Inner City Youth Hockey Program is kicking off their new season this Saturday, January 4th at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center.
The program, which is in its 7th year, is looking for 10-12 kids, ages 8-11 who live in the city of Flint to participate. Kids will all receive free transportation, free gear including skates and nine weeks of free instruction.
The program is run by retired Flint firefighter Rico Phillips, who won the NHL's Willie O'Ree Community Award last June. He donated $10,000 to the Kris Perani Foundation of Flint, which offers financial assistance and scholarships to families whose kids want to play hockey.
