Congratulations, Brenda!

Back in August, Brenda Brown was participating in the Crim training run/walk. People who took part in the training program get together on a Sunday morning a couple of weeks before the actual race and complete the course - but that didn't happen for Brenda.

She suffered cardiac arrest near Powers High School, and Rene McMann and Ashley Knific performed CPR on her before emergency services arrived. She recovered at U-M hospital in Ann Arbor, and never got to actually walk the Crim....until last night.

She picked up where she left off, and she had company: Rene and Ashley (whom she was meeting for the first time), her son, her pastor, and others.

She was presented with an official Crim medal at the end of the race, and plans on walking the 8K next year.

Congrats, Brenda! I remember hearing about "somebody" who had collapsed during the training run, so I'm super glad to hear that you're okay AND that you got to finish!
