ABC12 Bringing Back Popular ‘Live with Kelly & Ryan’ to Mid-Michigan

Fans of Live with Kelly & Ryan are finally getting their wish. The popular morning show is heading back to Mid-Michigan and WJRT-TV ABC 12. 

Fans of the show hosted by Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest were quick to voice their unhappiness back in September of last year when the long-running show was abruptly replaced with the local-centric Good Morning Mid Michigan. To be honest, people were downright furious.

The show had been a staple for years, with Ripa a host since 2001 and Seacrest joining the team in 2017. It wasn't that the iconic show was being canceled, but just being dropped by the local ABC12 due to a shuffle in scheduling. Immediately fans took to social media to voice their frustrations since the switch really left no alternative to catching the duo on another station. 

Now, it looks like fans may get their favorite morning pair back. According to an ABC12 representative, Live with Kelly & Ryan will return to WJRT-TV on September 14, 2022. The show will find itself back in action at 10:00 am, allowing Good Morning Mid-Michigan to continue with its locally centered show. 

There's no word on whether any other schedule changes will follow. ABC 12 was sold just about a year ago to  Allen Media Broadcasting, LLC for $70 million in cash. The new company is owned by Byron Allen, once a comedian and regular on the NBC series Real People, Allen founded Allen Media Group/Entertainment Studios in 1993. 

While you're waiting for Ripa to help you through your mornings again, you may catch her hanging out in Ann Arbor. Ripa and actor-husband Mark Consuelos have been calling Michigan home since their son Joaquin started school at the University of Michigan. The couple has been spotted more than once catching a game at the Big House.
