Flint Institute of Arts to Host College Lego Competition

The Flint Institute of Arts will host the second annual Create Your Own Masterpiece Intercollegiate LEGO event on Saturday, February 18 from 1-4 pm. Students from area colleges and universities will compete for this year's trophy and People's Choice Award.

Baker College, Davenport University, Kettering University, Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint will be represented at the event. Five person teams will create LEGO sculptures during the 3-hour competition. The completed masterpieces will remain on display in the FIA lobbly through February 26th.

Last year's event was witnessed by over 900 people and was also the subject of a short film, produced and directed by the Advanced Film Program at Mott Community College.

This year a junior competition, hosted by the FIA Art School has been added for students in grades K-12. Awards will be given in several categories. For entry information and more details, call (810) 237-7315 or visit: www.flintarts.org
