Metro Detroit residents have probably heard the name Ginopolis around some neighborhoods. The family has operated eateries for years. Now, a new chapter begins for them in Brighton.

What's happening to Ginopolis' Bar-BQ Smokehouse / Speakeasy in Brighton?

According to a March 29th Facebook post, the BBQ spot is closing to make way for a country-themed bar & grill named 'Cowgirls.'

What will the new Cowgirls in Brighton feature?

The space will still be a restaurant and bar with other entertainment including:

  • line dancing
  • country DJs
  • live music with a country focus (singers, songwriters)
  • and a comedy club in the basement called 'The G Spot Down Under'
  • banquet space

Smaller, but familiar menu

Owner, Melissa Ginopolis, told Livingston Daily the restaurant menu will be smaller, but showcase favorite barbecue items from the smokehouse days including: pulled pork brisket, brisket reuben sandwiches and jumbo wings. You can expect "bar food and some salads."

According to Livingston Daily, Ginopolis' BBQ Smokehouse/Speakeasy was opened in this location in 2019. Before that it was Downtown Main Martini Bar & Grille. Cowgirls should be in good company. That stretch of Main Street has plenty of restaurants, bars and grills. Welcome to the neighborhood, Cowgirls. We wish you the best.
