The press conference just took place at the Perani arena, and the name/logo have been announced!

Team president Costa Papista announced the name and logo, which was chosen from over 5,000 submissions from Michigan residents, as well as from around the country.

The winning entry was submitted by Tom Barden, a Genesee county resident. He's a former GM employee and retired military. ""Flint is a community that has been built and sustained on the fierce resilience of its residents, and we see the Firebird as a symbol of that resilience," Papista said in a release. "Flint has pulled through a difficult journey, and is now standing on the verge of great potential and promise."

The OHL draft is on April 11th, and tickets are on sale now at the Perani Arena box office. The Flint Firebirds website will be available soon at flintfirebids.com.

More info coming soon! What a great addition to our community!
