We've been following and reporting the progress of Grand Blanc Road construction throughout the year.
Now, it appears the project is finally complete.

Grand Blanc Road Construction
The roadway from Dort Highway to Porter Road in Grand Blanc Township has been undergoing a widening project for a few months.
We spoke with Genesee County Road Commission Communication Coordinator, Kylie Dontje, via email. The update is promising for area drivers.
It’s still on track to be completed by the middle of this month [October]. Paving and pavement markings are complete. There are just a few things left to finish up (a couple of driveways).
Fresh pavement and road paint never looked so good. You can almost hear angels singing in the distance, right?
Grand Blanc Road Re-Open
Grand Blanc Road is open to east and westbound traffic from Dort Highway... all the way through to Fenton Road.
The heavy lifting of the project is complete. And, thanks to decent weather, it was completed earlier than the Mid-October/Mid-November target.
For the tired, weary and annoyed drivers taking detours that involve roundabouts at Cook Road, the end is finally here.
Fans of Creasey Bicentennial Park will be excited, too. Drivers were ignoring the road closure signs and using the park entrance from Grand Blanc Road as a turnaround, aggressively.
The widened roadway will mean fewer back-ups with the left turn lane in place.
