Is Burton, MI Really Getting a Truck Stop? It Kinda Looks Like It
It's been a very long time since a brand-new business was built at I-69 and Center Road. That's the exit most people remember for Courtland Center Mall.
Now, it appears a new development will be "coming soon."

What's being built at I-69 and Center Road?
According to a relatively new sign in place a truck stop, gas station, convenience store, a couple of restaurants, coffee shop and smoke shop.
That seems very ambitious for the amount of space that property offers.
Especially if the restaurants would also have drive-thru lanes.
Looking northeast from Center Road. I-69 is just ahead (above).
Looking southeast from Center Road. Lapeer Road is the next intersection (below).
What gas station used to be on this property?
Action Auto used to be a popular chain of gas and auto service stations around Genesee County.
That was located just off I-69 & Center Rd exactly where this BP Gas Station/Truck Stop will be constructed.
Park Place Centre is located closer to I-69. Game Stop & Verizon are on the south side of the property closer to Lapeer Road.
Very curious to see how there will be room for 18-wheelers to navigate comfortably.
It would be amazing to construct a Buc-Ee's size truck stop on some of the Courtland Center property or across Center Road where the old Farmer Jack and Target were located.
But the latter is Flint, not Burton.
There's a lot of truck traffic in the area. It makes sense to accommodate drivers. We'll be following this project as it develops.
