ABC-12 Sold to Atlanta-Based Company
Gray Television Inc. will acquire WJRT-TV (ABC-12) from SJL Holdings LLC. The $128 million deal also includes WTVG-TV in Toledo, Ohio.
The Atlanta-based company has been on a buying frenzy, recently gobbling up stations in South Dakota, North Dakota, Louisiana, Nebraska, Ohio, and West Virginia, according to AJC.com.
No word yet as to whether or not the sale will mean any programming changes for the ABC affiliate. SJL Holdings released longtime anchors Bill Harris and Joel Feick just days after it acquired WJRT in April of 2011.
